Crystalix
A comet has crashed into a serene land of magic and alchemy. It’s impact has
crystallized it and spread fragments of it across the magical kingdom. Where
ever these crystallized shards are they slowly squelch all surrounding life.
The supreme wizard discovers that the only way to destroy the crystals is to
match the with certain “magical figures”. For those who don’t know “magical
figures” are made in Russia and normally marketed as Tetris blocks. The
supreme wizard has his minions make him a trove of these pieces and sets out
with them to save the realm.
In classic mode you have to destroy all the crystals from the arena using the
magical tokens that appear at the bottom of the screen. You can rotate these
shapes by clicking on them. When all the crystals are gone the level will end
and a new one will scroll on. After each level you’ll be presented with a
score sheet showing how many figures you used and how quickly you cleared the
level. You lose a life if the shapes that appear at the bottom fill the whole
of the area. Some tools exist to help with stray pieces, unusable magical
tokens stuck on screen can be destroyed with a hammer, and your wand will
remove a single crystal from the area. Each can be used only ten times. Some
crystals sparkle even more than their multifaceted comrades, these will
explode when cleared and take out surrounding crystals. Surrounding the
crystals in many levels are coins which when clicked on will add to your
score. When the screen is scrolling to the next level you’ll have more
opportunities to pick up coins.
In jewel mode you’ll be trying to fill the screen with your token while
destroying crystals. Once this is accomplished you’ll progress to a new grid
of crystals. Such convenient things as exploding crystals have been removed
making this mode more difficult.
