Courier Service Simulator 3D
The action of the game was set in a fictional metropolis Megacity, consisting of residential districts, industrial areas and a business centre. The player chooses the color scheme of the company he will represent and the vehicle he intends to transport the parcels, and then executes randomly generated orders. For each task there is a time limit, valid from the receipt of the shipment to its delivery to the final recipient.
The game consists mainly in overcoming the routes leading through a complicated, and often crowded network of city streets. Seven vehicle models, including a bicycle, a passenger car, a van and a truck, were made available to the player. The different means of transport are characterized by different parameters and work well in certain situations (for example, a bicycle can cope better in a congested centre, and a truck can take more loads at the same time). An order is considered to have been executed if the shipment is delivered to the consignee within the specified time limit.
The three-dimensional graphical environment in Courier Service Simulator 3D features simplified models of characters and objects. The level of detail and workmanship of the visual setting are also different from the contemporary standards. However, developers have taken care of such details as day and night cycles and changing weather conditions, as well as the ability to switch between different camera shots (e.g. from behind the wheel of the vehicle and from the bird’s eye view).
