Welcome to the continent of Vestoria. It’s a nice place where modern technology somehow coexists with medieval weapons and government. The name’s Leif, and I’ll be your guide for today.
So, how does this story of mine start? Well, it all started with a simple mercenary contract. Was it a trap? Probably not. Did it trap me and my friends in prison? You bet your ass it did. So naturally, I broke out. And saved my friends. And found reasons as to why we were jailed. It’s a nice story, if I do say so myself. Pfft, story? This isn’t a story! Well, it is. It’s basically my claim to fame. I’ll step off my soapbox, before I start ranting.

Take the role of Leif, a young, sarcastic mercenary as he fights to save his friends from prison and overthrow the tyrant king of Dornwich, who imprisoned them.
## Characters
### Protagonists
**Leif**
Leif’s a 15 year old mercenary that really would rather take a nap than work. He’s a sarcastic guy who holds grudges for as long as possible. He lost both of his parents when he was 10 when they literally killed each other. He wasn’t shaken up that much by their deaths, and grew into a well adjusted young man despite the hardships of living as a homeless minor in a kingdom that didn’t have much homeless shelters. He cares mostly for himself and his friends, and would do anything to keep them safe.
**Holly**
Holly’s a 14 year old mage in training who’s always kind to everyone she meets. Well, almost everyone. Just like Leif, she cares deeply for her friends and would kill to save her friends from danger. Holly was Leif’s first true friend who didn’t try to rob him in the end, and due to that, she’s the friend that Leif cares about the most. She occasionally has outbursts of anger that she justifies with the phrase “Sometimes a nice girl needs to unleash some stress!”
**Nick**
Nick’s a 16 year old mercenary, the oldest in the team. He lost both his parents in a house break in when he was 5, and he blames himself for their deaths. To this end, he’s extremely depressed and suicidal at times. Hell, when Leif recruits him for that fated mission, he’s seen crying in his room. Despite his emotional issues, he’s an impressive fighter and packs quite a punch with his axe. Despite his and Leif’s backstories being similar, Leif and Nick don’t talk much. However, Leif cares about him all the same.
**Ava**
Ava’s a 15 year old mercenary that acts entitled to money. Leif considers her kind of annoying, but a friend all the same. She comes from a wealthy family, but for reasons that she won’t tell anyone, she lives in a small house in the capital town of Dornwich. She’s a really good archer, and is also very speedy. Under her spoiled girl attitude, she’s actually a very caring person, but she desperately tries to hide that fact.
### Antagonists
**Norikazu**
Norikazu is the highest Imperial Knight of Dornwich. He follows his king’s orders, even if said orders are to kill a 15 year old for potential knowledge of the plan to take over Vestoria. Otherwise, he’s a pretty nice guy.
**King Richard**
Richard is the king of the kingdom of Dornwich. He was brought to the throne a year before the events of the plot, and was a fairly benevolent ruler until recently, when he took up an odd interest in kittens and began plotting to take over Vestoria.
