BitStream
BitStream is a retro-style minimalist racing game that draws a heavy
influence from Dotstream. The player controls a colored line which races
against seven other colored lines. Moving straight and “drafting” next to
other lines will increase speed, as will hitting boost pads strewn about each
course; turning up and down the course, as well as hitting obstacles, will
decrease speed. However, unlike Dotstream , hitting obstacles will not end
the race prematurely.
There are four tournaments of four races each, as well as a single race mode,
a “freestyle” mode where all eight lines can be controlled in time with the
music, and a “swarm” mode where the player controls two lines simultaneously
and must keep them going at the same pace. Up to eight players can race
simultaneously.
