Birth of America
_Birth of America_ is a strategic war simulation covering two important
conflicts in the history of the United States – the French and Indian War and
the War of Independence.
The game takes place in Colonial America during the 18th century. Territories
span the entire eastern portion of America from the Atlantic Ocean west to the
Mississippi River, north into New England and Canada, south into the Florida
regions.
After choosing which scenario to play, pick from over 100 famous leaders to
control on one side of the conflict at hand – British, American, French, or
American Indian. Draft your forces, build forts, depots and blockades and then
control various troop types to fight over land and sea. Troops are controlled
at the regiment level, which can be arranged into detachments. More than 90
different equipment models can be used during the 10 different scenarios
offered.
In-game maps cover 700 territories and provinces over a variety of terrains,
weather conditions and levels of civilization. The top-down perspective
provides the look of a board game. Control is turn-based and game turns
correspond to one month of historical time. Once set into motion, scenarios
range from a few months to several years in length, historically speaking.
