## Description
_Bejeweled: Classic_ is an adaptation of the classic 2000 version of the
original tile-matching Bejeweled game. While several other versions were
already available for Android and iOS, this edition, based on the PC version,
brings the original game to the platforms with some additions. It contains
five game modes: Butterflies, Classic, Diamond Mine, Lightning and Zen. The
game is free-to-play with in-app purchases to remove the advertisements and
additional continues for the Butterflies and Lightning modes. The other three
game modes can be played without restriction. After a Game Over it is also
possible to watch an advertisement to receive 30 more seconds.
In the original Classic mode the player completes levels by reaching a score
withing the provided time. Zen is similar, but does not have a time limit.
Instead, it offers relaxing options such as ambient sounds, positive mantras
and breathing modulation. All of these can be customized with multiple
variants. In Butterflies the player needs to make as many matches as possible
before butterflies, appearing from the bottom of the screen, reach the top.
These butterflies have colours and can be matched with regular gems of the
same colour. This game mode was first introduced in Bejeweled 3.
In Diamond Mine the regular board is complemented with gold, gems and
artifacts for additional points. These are freed by making matches next to
them. Just like most other game modes there is a time limit. Lightning is the
last game mode. Here there are time gems next to the regular ones that can be
matched to receive time bonuses. Like Butterflies, Diamond Mine and Lightning
were also first introduced in _Bejeweled 3_. Lightning was previously also
available as the game mode Speed in the original browser version of the game.
Most of the gameplay is typical for the series’ match-three mechanics. There
are also flame gems, star gems, time gems, hypercubes and supernova games. By
performing well several badges can be earned and a custom profile can be
created. There are global leaderboards, a ranking system, and an optional hint
function.
