Using a great variety of gadgets you must make your way around the island, and the asylums halls to find and stop the joker. The game uses a 3-button combat system, but with a great number of gadget abilites which Batman can unlock. This makes for a very cinematic combat experience when fighting the Joker’s goons.
The Joker, Batman's arch enemy, has instigated an elaborate plot from within Arkham Asylum, where many of Batman's other foes have been incarcerated. Batman investigates and comes to learn that the Joker is trying to create an army of Bane-like creatures to threaten Gotham City, and is forced to put a stop to the Joker's plans. Throughout the night, Batman is forced to deal with the temporarily admitted sane prisoners from Blackgate prison, Scarecrow, Zsasz, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc and Harley Quinn. By the night's end, all the villains, save Bane, Croc and Crane, are recaptured and placed back in their cells and what remains of the staff try putting the Asylum back in order. Though it is thanks to Batman that the criminally insane are brought back under control, administrator of Arkham, mayoral candidate Quincy Sharp, soon takes advantage and claims the credit himself for bringing the Arkham institution back under control.

Game Analysis | The game begins with Batman capturing the Joker after his latest plot, escorting him to Arkham Asylum for imprisonment. Due to Joker's recent attack on Gotham's prison, a large number of sane convicts have been transferred to Arkham. Joker, however has set a trap inside the asylum, using the its own impenetrable defenses against him. Batman must now not only try to escape from the hazards of Arkham, but also recapture the Joker and reveal his true intentions.Gameplay places just as much focus on Batman's role as a detective as his combat prowess. Most of the game is played through an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective. It has been hinted that certain villains might be playable at some point in the game although this may be as an unlockable element after completing the game. Arkham was chosen as a location because of its limitations including the fact that it's located on an island. Arkham will be a persistent location that the player will be able to freely roam, including an area that serves as Batman's secret on-site Bat Cave. | |

Honestly there isn’t much you can say bad about this game, though I do believe that it starts out more interesting than it ends. The combat is revolutionary even by today’s standards, it’s incredibly fun to explore the world and solve the puzzles, and it’s all set in the Batman universe in a way that almost no previous Batman game was able to accomplish. Still fantastic to play all these years later, and probably gets a little overshadowed by the fact that Arkham City is even better by comparison. Stellar game either way.

1. Phenomenally written story with great portrayals of all the heroes and villains that we know and love.
2. Incredibly simple but complex fighting system that is incredibly addicting.
3. The stealth sections are incredibly fun but are quite flawed when compared to the sequels.
4. The riddler trophies and riddles are fun to hunt for in the late game.
5. The challenge maps are great fun and are a great challenge for people who are comfortable with the game.
1. Some stiff animations
2. The stealth bits can be a little clunky
One of the best superhero themed video games of all time. The game is incredibly simple when compared to it’s sequels but in retrospect it’s simplicity is what gives it it’s charm. It’s small scale with an incredible attention to detail in every corner. Anybody who has ever enjoyed Batman in any medium owes it to themselves to play this game and, for that matter, Arkham City the second they are done with this.
There was normal amount of Riddler challenges
Riddler challenges were based on searching than solvimg
Characters and plot was terrific. One thing was a bit strange that although you had lot of gadgets then actually you didn’t need much of them.
Gameplay mechanics feels smooth. Fighting elements are as amazing as they were in comics and animated series. Variety of approach due to tools at disposal of batman makes it more amazing.
The whole game is quite long while it was taking place in one night. Makes it more of a extension and may generate boredom and creepiness due to dark and horrific nature at times.
Fantastic gameplay..Feels like living and breathing batman as portrayed in comics. Generates nostalgia for good old batman cartoons.
