Arden’s Wake: Tide’s Fall is another work by the independent French band Penrose Studios, which was developed with the goggles of virtual reality in mind. As with Allumette, the title is a kind of interactive film. His prologue, Arden’s Wake: The Prologue, could be seen for the first time at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017; the first full version was shown at the next edition of the event.
### Story
Arden’s Wake: Tide’s Fall takes us to the postapocalyptic world – as a result of the global catastrophe, most of the Earth’s surface is under water. The main character is Meena, a teenager whose mother died during a violent flood, living with her father on a lantern towering over the flooded New York City. When a parent loses without a trace, the girl decides to go in search of it; during the half-hour long screening the player gets to know her further fate.
### Mechanics
While playing in Arden’s Wake: Tide’s Fall, released on the PC platform, the player acts as an observer. However, production allows you to freely look around and move around, as well as focus on selected characters or elements of the scene.
### Technical issues
Like Allumette, Arden’s Wake: Tide’s Fall has cartoon graphics. It is noteworthy that the dialogue issues have been fully voiced and Alicia Vikander, a Danish actress known for her leading roles in films such as Tomb Raider and Ex Machina, has also been the executive producer of the project.
