Another Century’s Episode: R
In the ruins of a dead planet a call goes out, summoning the aces of 10
different universes against their will. None of them know why they have been
summoned, but rivalries soon bubble to the surface. On top of that the
amnesiac girl who summoned them, Autumn Four, finds herself under attack by
the android army of Winter One. Sides will quickly be taken as the aces
attempt to find a way back home.
As in the previous _ACE_ games, _Another Century’s Episode R_ collects a
motley crew of super and real robot pilots from a variety of shows and tosses
them into missions against all manner of mechanical foes. The game starts by
selecting a path, one for each series. The paths start with unique missions
before converging into a single shared series of missions that lead to the
ending. Mission objectives are rarely more complex than destroying all or
specific enemies.
Each mecha in the game has unique stats and short range/long-range attacks,
both of which can be upgraded with points earned from missions. During combat
a tension bar will fill as weaker attacks are used, allowing access to higher
level attacks when filled. Each Mecha has a shield system to defend from long
range attacks, a boost to close the distance to a distant enemy, and quick
transformation between alternate modes for any mecha with transformation
modes.
