Angry Birds: Ace Fighter is a shmup (shoot em up) shooter released on iOS and AND. The game uses a free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions. It was developed by Siamgame Mobile and published by Rovio.
### Mechanics
The gameplay mechanics of the iOS and AND version of Angry Birds: Ace Fighter follow the paths created by countless other shmup games. The player controls a small flying unit which is automatically flying towards the top of the screen. Shooting is also performed automatically and the player only changes the position of his unit so that it hits the enemies and avoids being hit. Destroyed opponents are frequently dropping various useful items that can for example allow the player to obtain a more powerful weapon or better upgrades. Battles with giant bosses make the game more interesting.
The player can select from five flying units a butterfly, a dragon, a rocket, a phoenix and a magic carpet. Each of them has different characteristics. In addition to that, players accumulate helpful ghosts during the game, who serve them as wingmen, giving some support during fights. Different types of the ghosts can be combined to get different effects so it is important to select them wisely.
### Game modes
Angry Birds: Ace Fighter offers a campaign that can be completed alone or in cooperation mode that allows up to two players to work together. The title also offers a PvP mode that is uncommon in the genre and that enables the players to fights in one-on-one duels in which the participants are positioned on different edges of the screen and are tasked with destroying their rival.
