## Description
_1941: Frozen Front_ is a turn-based strategy game shown through a top-down
perspective. The gameplay is identical to 1805: French Empire but this game is
set during World War II with relevant units and terrain. The singleplayer mode
consists of a campaign with eight consecutive missions. Enemies need to be
taken out, specific units need to be escorted, villages are captured and
messengers are ambushed. The player and the computer opponent take turns with
actions on the battlefield.
The army consists of tanks, transporters and infantry. The opponent has tanks,
jeeps and antitank units. Each phase, units can be moved and they attack when
an opponent is in range. The outcome is determined by the unit type and the
terrain. Rushing tactics do not work, the moves need to be planned and the
terrain can be put to an advantage, for instance by attacking from a height.
Slower units such as infantry can board a transporter to move around more
quickly. Many missions start with scattered units on different sides of the
map. There is no building or resource management involved, all missions need
to be completed with the units available at the start.
The units’ health is shown through coloured bars, along with the amount of
hexagons they can move. Navigate can also be done through a mini-map in the
top right corner. The missions are introduced through a short briefing and
after each round a statistics screen is shown. Two players can battle on a
single device in the multiplayer _hothand_ mode. There are four scenarios on
larger maps available and all types of units are available right away in this
mode.
