Game Analysis
Alone in the Dark: Illumination is a PC-only horror game due out later this year, and will be shown in full at Seattle’s PAX Prime event later this month.Fondly remembered as the roots of the horror genre, Alone in the Dark began in the original 1992 DOS release, making a name for itself for its story based on Lovecraftian lore. It’s undergone a number of different reboots already, including the Resident Evil style Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare, and the poorly received Alone in the Dark 2008 reboot. Now it’s back with Alone in the Dark: Illumination, which Atari pitches as a re-imagined take on the classic survival horror series. In development at relatively unknown studio Pure, a teaser website has cropped up for Alone in the Dark: Illumination, with more expected to be shown in Autumn.
