Shooting and combat
1. By pressing “B” you can change firing mote of most weapons. The available modes are single shot, bursts of 3 shots or constant fire.
2.Match firing mode to the situation and the weapon that you have. The majority of ARs (Assault Rifles) allow you to conduct constant fire, which is useful over short and medium distances. If necessary, you can switch the weapon into the single shot mode, to fire at an enemy in the distance.
3. remember to modify your weapon on a regular basis. This especially goes for sights. A x8 sight is useful while firing at an enemy in the distance, but it proves completely useless while fighting indoors, or in a narrow corridor.
4. You can conduct fire in three different ways. You can shoot from hip (without aiming), by aiming with RMB, of with the optics attached to the weapon – the latter is activated by tapping (instead of holding down, RMB. While using optics, you can also hold your breath by pressing “SHIFT” – this zooms in a little more.
5. If you spot an enemy who is not a direct threat to you, consider if it is a good idea to eliminate him. You will obtain several additional points from that ,but this will attract the attention of nearby players. Before you open fire, you should find a cover, not to stand out in the open. Also, remember that you can simply decide not to kill him – you may attract other players and the enemy may still escape.
6. If there are several enemies fighting near you, stand by and let them kill each other out When there is only one enemy left standing, there is a high chance of him trying to obtain the equipment of the dead players,- you simply have to wait for him to collect everything and kill him with a shot to the back.
7. When you kill an enemy and you have to ransack his equipment e.g. when you do not have some of the key items), do that as quickly as possible, if you are out in the open. While collecting the items, you will be defenseless and vulnerable to enemy fire. If, however, you have killed an enemy inside a building, you do not have to hurry.
8. If you do not care about practicing shooting, it is better to avoid combat with opponents. Thanks to this, you will not attract nearby enemies.
9. If you see an enemy in a vehicle, the distance, it is better not to shoot at him. The chances of elimination are poor and you will only attract nearby enemies. The situation is different if you have a sniper rifle, or any other weapon with reliable sights – you can then give it a shot.
10. The only way to learn to shoot is to practice against other players – there is no shooting range here. If you want to learn to fight effectively, it is a good idea to go to places, where you can encounter other players – cities with many buildings, military base to the South or the power plant are the best locations.
11. Remember that you can lean from behind a cover (left/right) using “Q” and “E” – this is useful while fighting another player and allows you to stay safer while conducting fire.
12. remember that you can “cook” the grenade before throwing it, which decreases time to explosion. However, do not hold down the key for too long, or the grenade will wound you – it explodes after some 5 seconds of removing the pin.
13. There is an alternative way to throw a grenade. To do that, hold down LMB to remove the pin and throw with RMB.
14. “Grenade type can be changed with “5”. Each instance of pressing the key changes the grenade type.
15. Grenades can be used both for killing and for driving enemies out from their covers. When the enemy spots even a smoke grenade, he may freak out, due to the brevity of time to determine the type. Familiarize yourself with types of grenades and use them whenever necessary.
16. Try not to use smoke grenades to hide your position or to change positions. Wreaths of smoke can be seen from a long distance and it will attract other players.
17. Use terrain obstacles for cover and, if possible, do not run in the open. Trees may not be the best cover, because they obscure your view and protect you only on one side, but they are better than standing out in the field and wait for a player to kill you.
18. Headshots deal 250% of damage – some of the weapons can kill an enemy in one shot to the head. Helmets of tier 1 and 2 protect the head, but they do not cover the face, which tier 3 helmets do. Shots to the legs deal 50% damage.
19. To hit a target in the distance, or one in movement, you have to adjust your sights. When the enemy is far, you have to move the sights slightly up and, when he is moving, left or right, you have to aim a bit “in front” of him to compensate for the speed. The greater the distance from the enemy, the more “in front” you have to aim.
20. Silencers decrease the distance from which you can be heard. However, this is not Counter-Strike, where shots are suppressed from a distance of 30-40 meters – The enemy will still be able to head you from the distance of several hundreds of meters. Silencers have been discussed in a separate chapter of this guide.
